The incredibly tough luck 2020 NASCAR Cup Series season has continued for Ryan Preece, as his No. 37 JTG Daugherty Racing machine failed pre-race inspection two times before Sunday’s Food City Presents Supermarket Heroes 500 at Bristol.

As a result, Preece — who was slated to start 33rd — will have to drop to the rear of the 40-car field before the start of Sunday’s event.

Joining Preece in the back will be Gray Gaulding. Gaulding was scheduled to start 30th in Rick Ware Racing’s No. 27 entry, but his car also failed pre-race inspection twice.

For fantasy purposes, both drivers will be officially credited with their original starting spots.
