NASCAR Championship Weekend is expected to return to Homestead-Miami Speedway in 2026, according to a report from Jordan Bianchi of The Athletic.

The 1.5-mile intermediate racetrack, which is located in the region of Homestead, Florida, previously hosted NASCAR’s Championship Weekend festivities from 2002 to 2019, before NASCAR chose to pivot that slot to Phoenix Raceway, beginning in 2020.

All three of NASCAR’s National Series — the NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series, and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series — will crown their champions at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

The pivot from Phoenix Raceway to Homestead-Miami Speedway as the championship finale for next season, is part of a conceded effort by NASCAR to have the championship finale rotate each season.

According to Bianchi’s report on Monday, April 21, a different racetrack will be hosting the NASCAR Championship Weekend festivities, as part of a year-to-year rotation of the championship-finale venue, which will include Phoenix Raceway.

The change in scheduling for the season finale will not impact Phoenix Raceway, as the racetrack will still hold a pair of dates on the NASCAR Cup Series schedule.

According to Bianchi, an official announcement is tentatively expected in the next couple of weeks.
