Mother Nature has once again made what seems to be her yearly appearance at Dover Motor Speedway.
With inclement weather impacting the region of Dover, Delaware, on Saturday, NASCAR has been forced to completely wipe away on-track activity for the NASCAR Cup Series at Dover Motor Speedway.
It’s the third time in the last four years that an on-track session has been impacted by weather at the one-mile concrete oval, with the races being pushed to Monday in both 2022 and 2023.
When the green flag drops for Sunday’s AutoTrader EchoPark Automotive 400, there will be no drivers in the 37-car field with any laps around the racetrack this weekend, and more importantly, no drivers with any laps on the new untested tire for this weekend at Dover.
According to the NASCAR Cup Series Rule Book, NASCAR’s Performance Metric (used each week to determine the qualifying order) will set the starting lineup for Sunday’s event.
STARTING LINEUP: 2025 NCS AutoTrader EchoPark Automotive 400 at Dover
Chase Elliott, who finished third at Sonoma last weekend and sits second in NASCAR Cup Series point standings, will lead the field to green in Sunday’s 400-lap contest. Chase Briscoe, runner-up from Sonoma, will roll from second.
Christopher Bell and Tyler Reddick will be sharing the second row when the race goes green on Sunday, with William Byron rounding out the top five. Shane Van Gisbergen, the winner of the last two NASCAR Cup Series events, will roll from sixth.
Michael McDowell, Joey Logano, Ty Gibbs, and Kyle Busch will round out the top-10 starters.
Other notable starters outside the top-10 include Chris Buescher (12th), Denny Hamlin (13th), Brad Keselowski (15th), Alex Bowman (16th), Ross Chastain (19th), Bubba Wallace (22nd), Kyle Larson (25th), Austin Cindric (26th), and Ryan Blaney (31st).
The AutoTrader EchoPark Automotive 400 at Dover Motor Speedway will take place Sunday, July 20 at 2:00pm ET on TNT Sports, Performance Racing Network, and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio Channel 90.
