My, oh my, the NASCAR Xfinity Series put on a show yesterday. If the NASCAR Cup Series guys can even hold a miniature candle to that show, we’re in for a treat in the Brickyard 400 on Sunday, July 21.

Tyler Reddick, who has one career start in the Brickyard 400 (an eighth-place finish in 2020), will lead the field to green after he scored the pole for the crown jewel race in qualifying on Saturday afternoon.

Denny Hamlin, who came bitterly close to winning this event back in 2020 until a cut tire in the closing laps ended his day, will start alongside Reddick from the second position.

While many had Hamlin or Kyle Larson likely circled as the favorite to win this weekend, Reddick has asserted himself as the driver with the fastest car heading into Sunday’s race.

The driver of the No. 45 23XI Racing Toyota also paced practice for the race on Friday.

The day’s Brickyard 400 televised coverage kicks off on NBC (streamable on the NBC Sports App with a cable/YouTube TV login) at 2:00 PM ET.
