LEGACY MOTOR CLUB and Noah Gragson have not parted ways, a representative from the organization tells TobyChristie.com, contrary to an August 8 report from Jordan Bianchi of The Athletic.

In the midst of his rookie season at NASCAR’s top level, Gragson was suspended first by LEGACY MOTOR CLUB – and then NASCAR – on August 5, after it was discovered that he had liked an insensitive meme surrounding the death of George Floyd.

Following the announcement of his suspension, Gragson posted the following statement to social media: “I am disappointed in myself for my lack of attention and actions on social media. I understand the severity of this situation. I love and appreciate every one. I try to treat everyone equally no matter who they are. I messed up plain and simple.”

Josh Berry would be tapped as the interim driver of the No. 42 Chevrolet for the FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan, before Mike Rockenfeller was announced on Tuesday to be the driver of the entry for events at Indy’s Road Course and Watkins Glen.

“The report in The Athletic that we have parted ways with Noah Gragson is untrue, he has not been released from LEGACY [MOTOR CLUB],” said a team representative. “Mike Rockenfeller will drive for the next two weeks at Indy and Watkins Glen. Noah [Gragson] is suspended indefinitely by NASCAR so we will have to identify drivers to compete in the No. 42 in the interim. NASCAR will determine the timeline when Noah can return to the sport. We are working with Noah and his representation through this process.”

Details surrounding the driver lineup of the LEGACY MOTOR CLUB No. 42 Chevrolet, as well as the reinstatement of Gragson, will be released by the appropriate parties at a later date.

  1. I think the world is getting a little out of hand with all this B.S. yes Noah is representing NASCAR. But no one would have really known anything about it. If y’all wouldn’t have blew it all up. Stay out of people personal life’s. Clean off your own doorstep before trying to clean off someone else’s.
