Wow, plate races and road course events typically lead to random driver/team pairings that you never expect. This weekend’s Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway will be no different as Landon Cassill will drive the Gaunt Brothers Racing No. 96 Toyota Camry with sponsorship from Carnomaly.

The team released the news in the form of a press release on Monday.

In addition to Saturday night’s race at Daytona, Cassill will also run the October 3rd event at Talladega Superspeedway in the No. 96 car as well.

“I’m proud to bring Carnomaly into the sport and into the NASCAR Cup Series,” Cassill said in the release. “They’ve been a great partner of mine and eRacr, which is the esports arm of what I do with Parker Kligerman. We put on big events on iRacing and Carnomaly was the sponsor of an event earlier this year called the Carnomaly 500, which was at Daytona on iRacing. I’m really looking forward to bringing Carnomaly to real racetracks at Daytona and Talladega with Gaunt Brothers Racing.”

Carnomaly, a tech solutions company which has done business with Cassill and fellow NASCAR driver Parker Kligerman through eRacing events with eRacr.gg, are excited to dip their toes into real-world NASCAR sponsorship with Cassill.

“I’m incredibly excited about the partnership with Landon Cassill and Gaunt Brothers Racing,” said Scott Heninger, Founder and CEO, Carnomaly. “Landon is at the forefront of cryptocurrency’s use in the auto racing industry. He’s the perfect partner to team up with on this endeavor in order to further revolutionize the auto finance industry and expand our consumer base.”

Cassill, 32, has a career-best finish of fourth in NASCAR Cup Series competition, which came while driving the No. 40 machine for Joe Falk’s race team back in 2014. Cassill, who has a been a journeyman in the sport, has not competed in the NCS since 2019, when he drove the No. 00 for StarCom Racing.

The Iowa-native has been a full-time competitor in the NASCAR Xfinity Series this season, driving for JD Motorsports. Cassill sits 20th in the NXS driver standings this season with an average finish of 21.7.
