Jimmie Johnson will FINALLY get to test an IndyCar this year, driving for NASCAR Cup Series owner Chip Ganassi at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course on July 8th, according to tweets from Johnson and Ganassi.

The seven-time champion Johnson, announced his retirement from full-time competition in the NASCAR Cup Series at the end of the 2020 campaign, expressing interest in potentially running an IndyCar road course event.

Johnson was originally scheduled to participate in a test session at Barber Motorsports Park for Arrow McLaren SP in April, but the session was cancelled due to the increasing threat of the COVID-19 pandemic.
