Guaranteed Rate, which sponsored the No. 6 Roush Fenway Racing Machine piloted by Ryan Newman at New Hampshire a few races ago, will now extend their deal with the team to make it a 12-race primary sponsorship in 2020.

Guaranteed Rate will be the featured sponsor on the No. 6 car for 11 of the final 14 races of the NASCAR Cup Series season including this weekend’s event at the Daytona International Speedway Road Course and the season-ending NASCAR Cup Series Championship Race at Phoenix.

Newman and the No. 6 team have had an emotional season.

On the final lap of the season-opening Daytona 500, Newman was in the thick of the battle for the win, when he was sent into the wall. Newman flipped wildly and the top of his car was slammed into by Corey LaJoie’s car.

This sent Newman to the hospital, and he would miss the next three races. Then, the sport shutdown during the early stages of the Coronavirus pandemic.

Upon return, Newman returned to the car.

Newman is 26th in the championship standings and has scored one top-10 finish in 2020.
