Ricky Stenhouse Jr. and JTG Daugherty Racing will hope to have the luck of the Irish — Irish Spring to be exact — in the 2022 Daytona 500.

On Monday, the team revealed their new paint scheme for the season-opening event, which will feature Kroger blue on the hood and front bumper, and Irish Spring Body Wash green on the remainder of the machine.

According to a release from the team, Irish Spring will be featured on the car at the Bristol Dirt Race on April 17th in addition to the Daytona 500.

“More guys choose Irish Spring to get clean than any other brand, and we’re thrilled to join JTG Daugherty Racing in their drive to clean up at Daytona and Bristol,” said Emily Fong Mitchell, General Manager, Personal Care North America.

Stenhouse, 34, has two-career NASCAR Cup Series wins, one of which came at Daytona International Speedway back in 2017. Additionally, Stenhouse finished runner-up in the inaugural Bristol Dirt race a season ago. So, it seems like Irish Spring picked a great 1-2 punch as far as races to sponsor Stenhouse in.

“We’ve got a strong sponsor lineup this season, and we’re proud to welcome Irish Spring to the Kroger Racing family,” Stenhouse said. “They’ve selected two great races to showcase their body wash brand to NASCAR’s 70 million brand loyal fans, and it’s two race tracks we excel at regularly.”

The dirt race, in addition to being a spot Stenhouse could legitimately score a win, provides a unique opportunity for product placement for the body wash brand.

“We’re all going to need to use some Irish Spring Body Wash after the Bristol Dirt Race,” Stenhouse laughed. “We had a blast our first time there on dirt and our car was really good on the long run. We’re looking forward to getting back there with Kroger and Irish Spring. But first, we’ll kick things off for Irish Spring in our biggest race of the year, the Daytona 500.”

The 2022 NASCAR Cup Series Daytona 500 is set for February 20th at 3:30 PM ET. The race will be aired on FOX.
