Billy Scott did not stay unemployed long.

On Wednesday, Stewart-Haas Racing unveiled their 2020 NASCAR Cup Series crew chief lineup and Scott’s name was nowhere to be found. The team later confirmed that Scott was seeking other opportunities.

Thursday night, Scott Tweeted the news that he has joined Richard Childress Racing for the 2020 season.

While RCR has already announced their crew chiefs for the Cup Series for the upcoming year, unless Scott is going to replace one of them, he will be the crew chief for their Xfinity Series operation.

Scott was the crew chief for Daniel Suarez in 2019. Suarez has been linked as a potential candidate to drive for RCR in the Xfinity Series this year and has yet to announce his plans.
