Ferris Mowers will continue its support of Ty Dillon for the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season, as part of a multi-race, multi-series partnership with the Welcome, North Carolina-native, Richard Childress Racing, and Spire Motorsports.
The company, which began its support of Dillon during his one-season tenure at Petty GMS in 2022, will continue to back the 30-year-old driver as he transitions to taking over Spire Motorsports’ No. 77 Chevrolet Camaro.
Dillon, who enters his sixth season of full-time competition at NASCAR’s top level, will carry Ferris Mowers on board his Spire Motorsports entry in multiple events in 2023, starting with the season-opening Daytona 500.
Ferris Mowers will also serve as a primary partner of select NASCAR Xfinity Series events in 2023, adorning the No. 3 Chevrolet Camaro for Richard Childress Racing, beginning at Darlington Raceway in May.
“Ty is a great ambassador for the Ferris brand, and we enjoy a great relationship with him,” said Christin Wam, senior director of marketing, Briggs & Stratton. “We’re excited to see what he can do this season with both Spire Motorsports and Richard Childress Racing.”
Wednesday’s announcement ensures that Ferris Mowers will have a presence in each of NASCAR’s top-three divisions in 2023, with Ty Dillon in the NASCAR Cup and NASCAR Xfinity Series, as well as Stewart Friesen in the NASCAR Truck Series.
“I’m excited to be partnering with Ferris once again,” said Dillon, who is entering his sixth full-time season in NASCAR’s premier series. “Ferris has supported my career since 2013 when I drove dirt late models and I’m grateful for a continuing relationship. To carry and represent their brand 10 years later is an honor and I know we will accomplish great success on and off the track in 2023.”
At Wednesday’s announcement, Richard Childress – owner of Richard Childress Racing – said that the No. 3 entry will only be fielded for Ty Dillon in 2023, and will likely contest the maximum number of races that Dillon is permitted to run.
According to Childress, Justin Alexander is expected to serve as crew chief of the No. 3 Chevrolet Camaro in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Alexander served as long-time crew chief of Austin Dillon’s NASCAR Cup Series entry.
Additional details surrounding a schedule of events for Ferris Mowers – in both the NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Xfinity Series – will be announced at a later date.
