On Tuesday, NASCAR unveiled the official eligibility criteria for the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series Busch Clash at Daytona, which is usually a race designed for pole winners from the previous season.

However, with qualifying being scrapped for the majority of the 2020 season due to COVID-19, NASCAR had to get a bit creative in order to put a field together for this year’s edition of the exhibition event, which will run on the Daytona International Speedway Road Course.

Any drivers who won poles in 2020 by way of on-track qualifying, or made the Playoffs, or won a race, or won a Stage or have won the Clash in the past or are a previous Daytona 500 winner or pole sitter are eligible for the event.

This paves the way for 24 possible entries in the 2021 Busch Clash.

Here are the drivers eligible for the 2021 Clash (doesn’t mean they will all run):

  • Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
  • Chase Elliott
  • Kurt Busch
  • Clint Bowyer
  • Erik Jones
  • Brad Keselowski
  • Joey Logano
  • Denny Hamlin
  • Kevin Harvick
  • Kyle Busch
  • Jimmie Johnson
  • Matt Kenseth
  • Austin Dillon
  • Ryan Newman
  • William Byron
  • Alex Bowman
  • Martin Truex Jr.
  • Ryan Blaney
  • Matt DiBenedetto
  • Aric Almirola
  • Cole Custer
  • Tyler Reddick
  • Chris Buescher
  • Ty Dillon

The 2021 NASCAR Busch Clash at the Daytona Road Course will be contested on Tuesday, February 9th with a start time to be announced later.
