UPDATE (Tuesday, April 14, 2020): Kyle Larson has officially been released from Chip Ganassi Racing following the use of a racial slur in an iRacing event on Sunday.

An inexcusable slip of the tongue during an Easter Sunday iRacing event, has officially impacted the career of NASCAR Cup Series driver Kyle Larson.

On Monday, Chip Ganassi Racing announced that Larson would be going on suspension from the team without pay for his actions, while NASCAR levied an indefinite suspension for the 27-year old driver.

Now, Larson has begun to lose his corporate backers as well.

CreditOne Bank, who earlier in the day on Monday, applauded NASCAR and CGR in their swift action of suspension, released another statement announcing that they have terminated their contract with Larson.

McDonald’s, who has also been a huge supporter of Larson over the years, has terminated their deal with Larson as well.

In a statement, McDonald’s said, “The comments made by Kyle Larson are insensitive, offensive and not reflective of our inclusive values and will not be tolerated. McDonald’s is taking immediate action to terminate the relationship with Larson.”

This is a massive blow to Larson’s Racing career, but before Larson can even think about returning to the track, he will undoubtedly have to face fair criticism and show that he truly is on the road to being more understanding of why racial slurs should never be used.
