Ware’s No. 51 Ford Mustang will have a boosted engine package from Roush-Yates Engines in 2022, as well as a technical alliance with championship-winning organization Stewart-Haas Racing, in an attempt to see Rick Ware Racing’s two entries become more competitive.

The Greensboro, North Carolina-native has recorded 55 prior starts in the NASCAR Cup Series over the last six seasons, recording a career-best result of 19th at Talladega Superspeedway in 2020.

In 32 starts last season, Ware recorded three top-25 results, including his season-best run of 21st in the season-opening Daytona 500.

Since joining NASCAR’s top-three series in 2014, Ware’s eight-season journey in underfunded equipment has resulted in a single top-10 finish, recording a seventh-place result in the rain at Charlotte’s ROVAL in 2020.

Ware will join Stewart-Haas Racing reserve driver Ryan Preece, and two-time NASCAR Cup Series winner David Ragan as drivers confirmed to be competing for Rick Ware Racing in some capacity for 2022.
