Bubba Wallace Collects 2020 Comcast Community Champion of the Year Award

What an honor for Bubba Wallace. On Friday, the driver of the No. 43 Richard Petty Motorsports machine and future driver of the No. 23 23XI Racing machine was named the 2020 Comcast Community Champion of the Year Award winner.

By winning the award, Wallace, 27, will receive $60,000 for his Live to be Different Foundation.

Wallace, who has been at the forefront of the attempts of more inclusion in NASCAR in 2020 during civil unrest across the country, says it’s all about compassion.

“This is a tremendous honor for the Live To Be Different Foundation and me,” said Wallace in a press release. “We may be a relatively young organization, but we have lofty goals and high hopes for what we can in our community. I’m a firm believer that if we practice those core principles of compassion, love and understanding, we can make an everlasting and positive change. With Comcast’s generosity, we will look to inspire others and help those in need.”

The Comcast Community Champion of the Year Award has been awarded since 2015. Other finalists for this year’s award included Kaulig Racing team owner Matt Kaulig and Martinsville Speedway president Clay Campbell.

Both Kaulig and Campbell will also receive $30,000 for their respective foundations, as well.
