NASCAR Cup Series rookie Brennan Poole had competed in the first 28 NCS events in 2020 for Rick Ware Racing in the No. 15 entry, but will not compete in Saturday’s Bass Pro Shops NRA Night Race at Bristol Motor Speedway. In Poole’s place will be JJ Yeley.

Poole had been on the entry list all week, and was listed on the starting lineup as well. Rick Ware Racing made the change official with a photo of the new paint scheme on the No. 15 Thriv5 machine for this weekend.

Poole was 32nd in the championship standings heading into this weekend.

While Poole will not compete this weekend, he is still on the roster at Rick Ware Racing and will return for future races, a team representative told TobyChristie.com.

Yeley, 43, has been the most rock-steady driver for the RWR team over the past two seasons. He has captured numerous top-30 finishes and according to TobyChristie.com’s incident stats, Yeley has not been involved in one on-track incident during a points-paying race this season.

Yeley has competed in all but one race this season, which was the season-opening Daytona 500. Yeley attempted to make the field for the Great American Race, but was sidelined after finding trouble in his qualifying duel race.
