HEAR YE, HEAR YE NASCAR FANS!

Unplug those cable boxes and pull those rabbit ears out of the attic because NASCAR’s National Series are heading to Talladega Superspeedway this weekend… and it’s all on network television (well, at least the races are).

For just the second time in NASCAR history, and the first time in 25 years, the NASCAR Cup Series, NASCAR Xfinity Series, and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will all have their race broadcasts live on network television.

The only other time this has happened? Independence Day Weekend in 2000, when CBS Sports had the broadcast for the 2001 Pepsi 400 at Daytona International Speedway, plus the NASCAR Xfinity Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series events at The Milwaukee Mile.

The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series will begin the tripleheader weekend at Talladega Superspeedway with the Love’s RV Stops 225, taking place on Friday, October 17 at 4:00 PM ET.

FOX Sports 1 was originally scheduled to have coverage of this event, being the second race in the semi-final round of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Playoffs, but last week, NASCAR confirmed that the race would indeed move to FOX.

This isn’t a foreign concept, at all, for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series at Talladega. From 2014 to 2018, FOX was the home for the Fall event at the 2.66-mile superspeedway.

On Saturday, October 18, the NASCAR Xfinity Series will be tackling the high-banks of Talladega Superspeedway in the United Rentals 250, as one of the eight remaining post-season drivers will look to secure their spot in the Championship Race at Phoenix.

Coverage of the NASCAR Xfinity Series, as it has been all season long, will be on The CW.

Finally, the NASCAR Cup Series has reached the homestretch of its 2025 campaign, and thus, will be shown on broadcast television for the remainder of the season. NBC will have coverage of the YellaWood 500 at Talladega Superspeedway, taking place on Sunday, October 19 at 2:00 PM ET.

Now, some of you may not care about this… but it’s a big deal!

The world is currently in an era where there’s so much sports-related content to consume, whether that be on broadcast television, streaming services, social media, and cable channels. So, having easy access to the NASCAR Cup, Xfinity, and Truck Series in events that casual fans may consider their most exciting events of the year, is a fantastic pull for NASCAR.

Now, the biggest question is whether or not having all three of NASCAR’s National Series on broadcast television this weekend will make a tangible difference in the ratings, this week and into future weeks… and the answer to that is yet to be seen.

But, for now, being able to flip through the basic channels on your television and find three NASCAR races this weekend — and at Talladega of all places — is a MAJOR WIN.

One Response

  1. “The current deal, featuring Fox, Amazon Prime Video, TNT Sports, and NBC, is a seven-year deal valued at $7.7 billion.”

Arguably one of the WORST MARKETING plans for a Future.
Well, the Elitist owners and Executives had better enjoy their networks windfall because attendance and viewership will take a huge hit. Judging by data this past year, they can’t afford to lose too many more viewers & sponsors.

The Grassroots fans want the old NASCAR & American politics back!!
