Alex Bowman and Bubba Wallace were among the drivers collected in a multi-car accident at Lap 173 of Sunday’s Würth 400 at Texas Motor Speedway, which happened immediately after a restart.

The incident happened after defending NASCAR Cup Series champion Joey Logano attempted to poke his nose three-wide between Bubba Wallace and Ryan Blaney, and made contact with the No. 23 Toyota Camry XSE.

Wallace then went for a wild spin down the backstretch and caused drivers behind to take evasive action, which only amplified the accident — with Noah Gragson and AJ Allmendinger getting collected.

After spending time inside the top five, Alex Bowman was collected in the accident, as well, with his move to the outside line deemed unsuccessful after taking major contact from Allmendinger.

Then, just when everybody thought the wreck was finished, as Gragson and Bowman finished their sliding in Turn 3, Chad Finchum, driving the No. 66 Ford Mustang Dark Horse for Garage 66, piled in.

Finchum, Allmendinger, Bowman, Gragson, and Wallace all went to the garage to make repairs on their vehicles, with none of them returning to the racetrack, and collecting 32nd to 36th-place finishes.

Those drivers join Josh Berry and Denny Hamlin out of Sunday’s 400-mile event at Texas Motor Speedway.
