Congratulations are in order for the Allmendinger family, as AJ Allmendinger and his wife Tara Allmendinger have officially welcomed their first child, Aero James Allmendinger, into the world.
AJ Allmendinger confirmed the birth of the couple’s son on X, formerly Twitter, on Thursday afternoon.
Aero James Allmendinger, who had an original due date of August 7th, came roughly a month later than expected, but according to Allmendinger, his son was officially born at 11:31 AM ET on Thursday, September 7th.
Allmendinger says that mother and child are doing, “amazing,” and he thanked everyone for being so positive through the entire process.
It might have taken a bit longer than we expected, but @_TaraLea and I are so thrilled to have our little boy
Aero James Allmendinger finally arrive into our family at 1131am this morning. Momma and baby are doing amazing. Thank you to everyone that was so positive through this.— AJ Allmendinger (@AJDinger) September 7, 2023
As Allmendinger, 41, attempted to work his No. 16 Kaulig Racing Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 into the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs, he went into baby watch beginning with the race weekend at Michigan International Speedway on Sunday, August 6th.
The California native, who has two career NASCAR Cup Series victories, narrowly missed out on making the NASCAR Cup Series Playoffs this season, but regardless, he’ll feel like a champion at season’s end as he has entered fatherhood.
Allmendinger is a 17-time NASCAR Xfinity Series race winner, including two wins that he picked up in a part-time schedule with Kaulig Racing this season. Prior to moving to NASCAR stock car racing, the racer climbed the ranks in the open-wheel world.
Allmendinger took five victories in CART in the 2006 season, a year where he ranked third in the championship standings.
