NASCAR Cup Series veteran AJ Allmendinger will be returning to the historic Rolex 24 at Daytona International Speedway in January 2026, co-driving an entry for Acura Meyer Shank Racing with Curb-Agajanian (Acura MSR).
Allmendinger will get behind the wheel of the No. 60 Acura ARX-06 entry in the once-around-the-clock endurance event in Daytona Beach, Florida, marking the Los Gatos, California-native’s first start in the prestigious event since 2021.

“Mike Shank is one of the most important people in my life,” said Allmendinger. “He’s one of my best friends and a brother to me. I’ve missed driving for him at the Rolex 24 and feel so fortunate to get another opportunity. The race has always been one of my favorites, and I can’t wait to get there.”
The 43-year-old will be part of a four-driver lineup in the Rolex 24 that includes IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship full-time competitors Tom Blomqvist and Colin Braun, as well as six-time NTT IndyCar Series champion Scott Dixon.
“I can’t say enough about how happy it makes me to bring AJ back to the team for his 16th Rolex 24 with MSR,” said Mike Shank, co-owner of Meyer Shank Racing. “He is the definition of a professional race car driver and can do it all behind the wheel. Not only is he a great racer, he’s also like a brother to me, and to have his energy back on the team is really exciting. It’s a huge challenge for anyone to come in and learn to drive GTP cars, but I can’t wait to get him going.”
Acura MSR will also be fielding a sister car to the No. 60 in the Rolex 24, which will include full-season drivers Renger van der Zande and Nick Yelloly, as well as four-time NTT IndyCar Series champion Alex Plaou for Daytona, Sebring, and Petit Le Mans. Kakunoshin Ohta will also return to the team for Daytona and Watkins Glen.
January’s Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona will mark the 16th time that Allmendinger, who currently competes full-time in the NASCAR Cup Series for Kaulig Racing, will compete in the prestigious endurance racing event, a race he won in 2012 with Meyer Shank Racing.
Allmendinger is a three-time NASCAR Cup Series race-winner, with nearly 500 starts at NASCAR’s top-level. The Los Gatos, California-native is also an 18-time winner in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.
