It’s official, Bubba Wallace will remain at 23XI Racing as the driver of the team’s No. 23 Toyota Camry XSE in 2025 and beyond as the race team announced a multi-year contract extension with the driver on Wednesday.

The initial announcement came in the form of a post on the team’s social media channels. The post contained a video of the 23XI Racing No. 23 number, with Bubba Wallace’s signature. After a few seconds, a photo of Wallace appears with the words, “He’s Back.”

Attached to the video post was a statement from the team, which served as a caption for the video. The statement read, “From day one Bubba has been an integral part of 23XI. We’re excited to announce that he has signed a multi-year renewal and will continue to play a key role in helping 23XI grow and succeed. #ForwardTogether”

The 30-year-old Wallace is a two-time race winner in the NASCAR Cup Series, both wins have come with 23XI Racing. When Denny Hamlin and NBA legend Michael Jordan announced they were forming a NASCAR Cup Series team in the fall of 2020, Wallace was the first driver announced to the team’s driver roster for the organization’s maiden season of 2021.

Wallace indicated at Atlanta Motor Speedway that his contract extension talks had been placed on hold until 23XI Racing could come to terms on an agreement with NASCAR in the ongoing Charter Agreement negotiations.

“I know my process has been kind of going hand-in-hand with the Charter agreement. It’s frustrating to see where we’re at, because that impacts my life and livelihood, and everything moving forward with my future,” Wallace explained in a media bullpen session at Atlanta Motor Speedway. “That’s really all I’ve got to say about it.”

On the Friday leading up to the Quaker State 400 in Atlanta Motor Speedway, every team except 23XI Racing and Front Row Motorsports had signed the Charter Agreement. Wallace’s contract extension could signal that 23XI Racing has come to terms on the Charter Agreement as well, but the team has yet to comment on their latest status in the Charter Agreement negotiations.
