Corey Heim has moved on from competing full-time in the ARCA Menards Series, instead running a majority schedule in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series this season, but that doesn’t mean his fun in ARCA is finished.

The 19-year-old has committed to a six-race schedule in the ARCA Menards Series this season, and his first race has started with a bang, placing the No. 20 Crescent Tools Toyota Camry on pole for Saturday’s Lucas Oil 200.

Through a random draw, Heim was placed in the third qualifying group, which consisted of his Venturini Motorsports teammates Gus Dean, and Parker Chase, as well as three fast cars in Sean Corr, Mason Diaz, and Dale Quarterly.

Heim posted a lap time of 49.150 seconds (183.112mph) to claim his fourth pole in the series, and the fifth consecutive pole for Venturini Motorsports at Daytona International Speedway.

Gus Dean and Parker Chase swept the top-three positions for the four-car Toyota-backed organization, with the Chevrolet entries of Mason Diaz and Sean Corr rounding out the top five.

Greg Van Alst, Tim Richmond, Willie Mullins, Chuck Hiers, and Drew Dollar rounded out the top-10 in the group qualifying. Toni Breidinger – the fastest car in Friday’s session — was lumped into a sub-optimal group and qualified 11th.

Other full-time ARCA Menards Series drivers had trouble with their group selections, with Daniel Dye in 14th, Rajah Caruth in 21st, Amber Balcaen in 22nd, Nick Sanchez in 23rd, and Brad Smith in 34th.

Benny Chastain – driving the No. 01 for Fast Track Racing — did not post a qualifying speed, after failing to post a time in Friday’s practice session.
