Kaulig Racing and RAM Trucks have selected veteran road course racer Colin Braun to compete in the team’s “Free Agent Truck” in the inaugural NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event at St. Petersburg.
The newly-created program will see a rotating lineup of veteran stars, rising talents, and available drivers behind the wheel of the No. 25 RAM 1500 for each of the 25 events on the 2026 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series campaign.

Braun is the fourth driver to be confirmed as part of the program this season, with three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Tony Stewart taking the reins at Daytona, current NASCAR Cup Series driver Ty Dillon sitting in at EchoPark Speedway, and RAM: Race For The Seat runner-up Carson Ferguson scheduled to run at Martinsville in October.
“I’m excited to get back behind the wheel of a NASCAR truck, especially on such a cool weekend when they debut in St. Pete,” said Colin Braun. “RAM’s program offers a fantastic opportunity to mix my endurance background with oval and street course racing. I’m thrilled RAM is giving me this chance. I have seen how much work the Kaulig crew is putting into getting this program started up, and giving them a great result would repay them for the hard work.”
The Ovalo, Texas-native has many accolades in the world of road racing, but for a period of time in the late 2000s, he made an attempt at competing full-time in NASCAR’s National Series, as part of a development deal with Roush Fenway Racing (now known as RFK Racing).
From 2007 to 2011, Braun competed in 31 NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series events and 53 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series events. In 2009, Braun went to Victory Lane for Roush Fenway Racing at Michigan International Speedway, driving the No. 6 Ford F-150.
The 37-year-old driver’s most-recent NASCAR National Series start came in 2011, driving the No. 51 for Billy Ballew Motorsports at Atlanta Motor Speedway, where he finished 19th. However, in 2020, Braun served as a fill-in driver for Sam Mayer in the ARCA Menards Series event at the Daytona Road Course.
In January, Braun was teammates with current Kaulig Racing driver AJ Allmendinger in the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona, driving for Acura Meyer Shank Racing with Curb-Agajanian, where the team finished ninth overall and ninth in the GTP Daytona Class.
The inaugural NASCAR Truck Series event at St. Petersburg will take place on Saturday, February 28, at Noon ET on FOX.
