Cleetus McFarland is out of Friday’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event at Daytona International Speedway, his series debut, after a crash on the sixth lap of the Fresh From Florida 250.
McFarland was running inside the top-10 in the early portion of Friday’s event at ‘The World Center of Racing’, when his truck bobbled on the exit of Turn 4 and spun down the racetrack, getting into the inside wall hard.

The Brandelton, Florida-native was a major part of the excitement behind Friday’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season-opener at Daytona, as he joined Niece Motorsports to drive the No. 4 Black Rifle Coffee Company Chevrolet Silverado RST.
“Yeah, one-hundred percent my fault. Terrible mistake. It’s impressive, those guys can run three-wide for that long, and when that thing stepped out, you only have a couple of feel on either side, and I just didn’t have the ability to gather it up,” McFarland said after leaving the infield care center. “So, I wrecked myself.”
Among others in the field, and still running, are his teammates Travis Pastrana and Ricky Stenhouse, Jr., as well as three-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Tony Stewart, RAM: Race For The Seat winner Mini Tyrrell, and several others.
McFarland will be credited with a 37th-place finish in the Fresh From Florida 250 at Daytona International Speedway. At this time, there’s no word if McFarland has plans to contest another Truck Series event.
