‘Be Like Biff’

That’s the message inscribed on the rear-bumper of the No. 30 Rette Jones Racing Ford Mustang this weekend, as cars hit the racetrack for the first time in 2026 in ARCA’s annual pre-season practice at Daytona International Speedway.

For Garrett Mitchell, better known as internet personality and content creator Cleetus McFarland, those are more than just words on the back of his racecar; it’s his reason to compete.

‘Biff’ refers to 19-time NASCAR Cup Series race-winner and NASCAR National Series champion Greg Biffle, a good friend of Mitchell’s, and by all accounts, the reason that his NASCAR endeavors happened in the first place.

During the off-season, the NASCAR community tragically lost Biffle, his wife, Cristina, and his two children, Ryder and Emma, in a plane crash while the family was traveling to see Mitchell in Brandelton, Florida.

“Greg had a lot of impact on me and my personality, all the way to the way I treat my family, and a lot of my life,” Mitchell told SiriusXM NASCAR Radio on Friday. “I absolutely would not be here today without Greg Biffle.”

“The whole NASCAR idea came up, I don’t think it would’ve ever happened without his guidance, his mentorship, his connections that got me in with the right people, got me a car, taught me the necessary tools to actually do it without looking like a complete idiot,” he continued. “I’ve obviously made mistakes, but I would’ve made so many more.”

The 30-year-old made his debut in the ARCA Menards Series last February at Daytona International Speedway, and ended up running a four-race schedule (Daytona, Talladega, Charlotte, and Bristol) for Rette Jones Racing, collecting a pair of top-10s.

This year, the journey continues, albeit without Biffle.

Mitchell plans to run five ARCA Menards Series events with Rette Jones Racing in 2026, including the superspeedways of Daytona and Talladega. The other three races, plus additional events in other series, will be announced at a later date.

Competing in the ARCA Menards Series isn’t just happening because it’s enjoyable for Mitchell; he’s got some lofty goals for himself and his future. Some of those apparently include space travel, but others include a future attempt in the DAYTONA 500 – a mission put forward by him and Greg Biffle at the start of last season.

“I wouldn’t mind going to space, going to the space station, but I don’t know if they’d let me drive the rocket,” Mitchell joked. “I got a few things on my bucket list to get behind the wheel of. Just figuring it out as I go, there’s still plenty out there. […] I got a lot on my list, but ARCA has certainly been a fun part of it, and my goal is to make it to the DAYTONA 500. So, I got a lot of work left here still.”

“I’m carrying our mission of getting to the DAYTONA 500. That’s what I started with, all this stuff, so I gotta finish it.”

Now, instead of having the chance to complete this incredible mission with his best friend and mentor by his side, Mitchell will be taking the journey on his own, in honor of his friend, and he’ll do it by being like ‘The Biff’.
