TRICON Garage announced its driver for the No. 5 Toyota for the Tennessee Army National Guard 250 on Tuesday, adding to a prolific list of NASCAR Cup Series taking part in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway this weekend.
The team announced that Chase Briscoe will pilot the entry in Friday’s Craftsman Truck Series event, with support from Hasty Bake Charcoal Grills and Mobil 1.

The race marks Briscoe’s first Craftsman Truck Series appearance since 2023, also at Bristol, when he finished seventh in the AM Racing No. 22 Ford. That was part of the final weekend of NASCAR racing on the dirt-covered racing surface at Bristol before the spring weekend returned to the traditional concrete surface in 2024.
Briscoe won in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series at Bristol in 2020, taking the checkered flag in the Food City 300. While he is still seeking his first Cup Series win at “The Last Great Colosseum,” Briscoe has not finished worse than 13th in the last four races at Bristol in NASCAR’s premier series. Last fall, Briscoe led 127 laps and finished ninth in the Bass Pro Shops Night Race won by Christopher Bell.
Briscoe is now the seventh full-time NASCAR Cup Series competitor entered for Friday’s Tennessee Army National Guard 250. Others on the entry list include the Spire Motorsports trio of Kyle Busch, Daniel Suarez and Carson Hocevar, Niece Motorsports teammates Ricky Stenhouse, Jr. and Ross Chastain, and Christopher Bell in the No. 62 Toyota for Halmar Friesen Racing.
In total, 37 trucks are currently entered for the event, with 36 trucks guaranteed a starting spot in the field. The Tennessee Army National Guard 250 is the third race of the Triple Truck Challenge, where Corey Heim can push his total bonus to $500,000 with a third consecutive win.
The Tennessee Army National Guard 250 takes the green flag at 7:30 p.m. ET on Friday, April 10 at Bristol Motor Speedway. Coverage of the event will be available on FS1, the NASCAR Racing Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series event kicks off a full weekend of racing at Bristol featuring all three of NASCAR’s National Series. The weekend concludes with the Food City 500 for the NASCAR Cup Series on Sunday, April 12 at 3 p.m. ET. Coverage of the Food City 500 airs on FS1, the Performance Racing Network and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
