Hailie Deegan has taken a slow and methodical approach to working up the NASCAR ladder, which is refreshing this day in age when so many talented young racers get rushed up the system too quickly and ultimately burn out. However, everyone wants to know when they will get a chance to see Deegan finally run in the NASCAR National Series and at big iconic tracks like Daytona International Speedway.

Well, according to Brian Deegan — Hailie’s father — on the first episode of his The Deegan’s Podcast, Deegan may be running at Daytona sometime in 2020.

Around the 43 minute mark of the episode, the conversation shifts to what Hailie’s worst NASCAR crash to date is, and Hailie states that she hasn’t had any bad crashes in NASCAR yet.

“Knock on wood come Daytona, right? Daytona is coming,” says Brian Deegan.

“Oh, yeah. Wait, I don’t know if I’m racing Daytona, yet,” Hailie responded.

The Deegans then talk about an aggressive short track race weekend that Hailie had in 2019. Then, her father Brian chimes back in with Daytona — yet again.

“That was fast, but Daytona you’re going to have a lot more cars around you — if you race — there will be a lot more cars around you,” Brian says.

It seems Daytona is on the brain for the Deegan family.

So, does this mean Hailie will finally dip her toes into the NASCAR National Series in 2020? Not necessarily.

The ARCA Menards Series will also compete at Daytona International Speedway on February 8th.

If you remember, both the NASCAR K&N Pro East and West Series — which Deegan has competed in over the last couple of seasons, were merged with ARCA in the off season to create three separate championship battles over the 2020 season.

Deegan has three wins over the last two seasons in the West Series, and although she hasn’t announced her 2020 plans yet, you would expect her to run for the championship in one of the three series — if not all three.

Regardless, the first episode of the Deegan family podcast ended with Brian Deegan saying big news is coming for Hailie Deegan for 2020.

“I’m excited,” Brian says. “I think next year will be exciting. Big news coming, so we will keep you guys informed.”
