Although Brad Keselowski narrowly held off Chase Elliott in the closing laps of the STP 500 at Martinsville Speedway, the driver of the No. 2 Reese/Draw-Tite Ford Mustang made things look very easy for the majority of the race.
Keselowski took the lead for the first time on lap six. In all the Team Penske driver led 446 laps of the 500 in the race.
Elliott came home second, Kyle Busch was third, Ryan Blaney was fourth and Denny Hamlin rounded out the top-five.
This marks Keselowski’s second win of the season tying him with Kyle Busch for the lead in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series this season. Through six events, only Team Penske (Keselowski and Joey Logano) and Joe Gibbs Racing (Busch and Denny Hamlin) drivers have visited victory lane.
This is the first time since 1999 that only two organizations have won races in the first six events of a year.
