Former NASCAR Race Director Jusan Hamilton has been named President of NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series operation Alpha Prime Racing, with immediate effect.
In this role, Hamilton will oversee Alpha Prime Racing’s strategic direction and organizational development, with a focus on building scalable systems, strengthening leadership culture, and positioning the team for sustained growth.
Hamilton joins Alpha Prime Racing following more than a decade serving in senior leadership roles at NASCAR, where he led large-scale operations, managed complex stakeholder environments, and oversaw nationally and internationally executed programs. His departure from the sanctioning body was confirmed last September.
“Alpha Prime Racing represents an opportunity to build – not just compete,” said Hamilton. “After more than a decade leading operations at scale, I wanted to apply that experience directly within a team environment where leadership decisions translate immediately to performance, culture, and growth. This role allows me to do that.”
The long-time NASCAR executive’s background includes executive-level operational leadership, cross-functional team management, contract negotiations, and governance across high-visibility sporting platforms.
Tommy Joe Martins has served as the leader of Alpha Prime Racing throughout its entire seven-year tenure in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series — including formerly operating as Martins Motorsports with Tommy Joe as a full-time owner-driver. Martins believes that Hamilton’s approach will serve the team well through change.
“Jusan has a great understanding of this sport, from top to bottom,” said Tommy Joe Martins, co-owner of Alpha Prime Racing. “His experience, mindset, and humility made this decision for me. He’s the right person to take our team to the next level.”
Alpha Prime Racing fields two full-time entries in the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series, the No. 44 and No. 45 Chevrolet Camaros driven by Brennan Poole and Lavar Scott. The team also fields a third, part-time entry driven by team co-owner Caesar Bacarella.
“My priority is building clarity — around roles, expectations, and objectives — and creating an environment where people can perform at their best,” Hamilton added. “Strong teams are built intentionally, and that work starts immediately.”
In the NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series season-opener at Daytona International Speedway, Alpha Prime Racing had a solid showing, placing three vehicles inside the top-16 with Anthony Alfredo in 11th, Brennan Poole in 12th, and Lavar Scott in 16th.
