Zachary Tinkle will return to Fast Track Racing for the ARCA Menards Series East race at Rockingham Speedway on Saturday, April 19, the driver announced on Thursday.
Scouting America and the Zachary Tinkle Foundation have partnered together for the Pinewood Derby, with the winner of the design contest will have their design wrapped on Tinkle’s No. 11.
The 22-year-old has been competing in the ARCA Menards Series, including East and West since 2021. He has made 40 starts in ARCA’s headlining division, scoring a career-best eighth-place run on the dirt at DuQuoin State Fairgrounds in 2021 with Richmond Clubb Motorsports.
Tinkle has spent the last two seasons with Fast Track Racing in the ARCA Menards Series East on a full-time basis. He has finished fourth place in the final points standings back-to-back seasons with a total of two top fives and six top 10s across the 16 races. His best run came last season at Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway when he finished fourth.
The team recently announced that Japanese driver Takuma Koga would transition to the ARCA Menards East series full-time in the No. 12 Toyota. 62-year-old veteran Ed Pompa will also contest in two ARCA Menards East races at the season-opener at Five Flags Speedway on March 22 and the ARCA Menards Series/East combination race at Dover Motor Speedway on July 18 in the No. 10 Ford Mustang.
Fast Track Racing team owner Andy Hillenburg had commented about his excitement with working with Tinkle on the collaboration as both himself and Tinkle have had backgrounds in the Pinewood Derby: “I think Zachary is a great representative to the young Scouts today. It’s great to be part of something that was important to me as a youngster.”
It is currently unclear whether Tinkle will compete in his third full-time quest for the ARCA Menards Series East title which will be announced at a later date.
The ARCA Menards Series East race at Rockingham Speedway will air live on Flo Racing on Saturday, April 19.
