It was a master class at Milwaukee as William Sawalich picked up the trophy in the Sprecher 150, his seventh of the year in the ARCA Menards Series, and his second in the ARCA Menards Series East competition. This also marks his fourth in a row for Joe Gibbs Racing at the famed Milwaukee Mile.

“He (Zilisch) got a good jump on me (on the final restart) and was on my door. He had good momentum going down the back stretch. Then I just made sure to fire it off in there and get position off the corner to get a little side draft on him,” Sawalich said on beating the 28.

The Eden Prarie, MN native has now won in his last four ARCA Menards Series national platform starts at Salem, Elko, Springfield, and now today.

“We put in a lot of work to be good at places like this. We’ve been good here in the past and really good here last year. I had a really good Soundgear Starkey Toyota Camry today. Can’t thank my guys enough. Worked really hard today to be good here…I love this team,” he said post-race.

The win for him stopped the hot streak of fellow East Series competitor Connor Zilisch, who was four for four in ARCA Menards Series national starts. The Moorseville native managed to come home second on the day.

“It’s just a lot to learn from. If I ever come back here I’ll have some notes to look back on…I had fun out there for 150 laps just trying to learn out there. It was pretty boring,” he said about his second-place run.

Rev Racing driver Lavar Scott continued his strong 2024 season with a third-place finish and now has six top-fives in his last seven starts as a rookie. Kris Wright and Lawless Alan rounded out the rest of the top five.

Gremlins were about the weekend for the Venturini Motorsports crew. Two flat right fronts hit both Gio Ruggiero and Amber Balacen. Ruggiero was able to rebound, but Balcane’s day ended early. Meanwhile, contact with Christian Rose sent the 25 of Toni Breidinger for a spin. She recovered from that, but after the race break, she had a mechanical issue and stalled on track. The San Fransisco native came home 11th.

Looking at the points, Rev Racing’s Andres Perez still holds to the driver’s points by 46 over his teammate title in the ARCA Menards Series, meanwhile heading into the ARCA Menards Series East finale at Bristol Motor Speedway, Zilisch leads by just 16 over today’s winner.

Up next, the ARCA Menards Series heads back to the dirt at DuQuion, while the East Series preps for Bristol on September 19th.
