The future is certainly looking bright for 20-year-old Layne Riggs. The driver who became the youngest-ever NASCAR Advance Auto Weekly Series National Champion this season will now be featured in a national television advertisement on FS1.
According to a release from Clarion Creative, the 30-second advertisement for Ram Jack Foundation Repair will air during the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series season finale on Friday, November 4th at Phoenix Raceway, a race in which Riggs will compete for the Halmar Friesen Racing team in the No. 62 entry.
“Our agency helped put together the Phoenix race sponsorship package and, as always, turned to Rob Flores to deliver a truly strong and compelling television commercial,” Clarion Creative CEO Bert Dean stated in the release.
While Riggs, the son of nine-time NASCAR National Series race winner Scott Riggs, only has two NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts to his name heading into Phoenix, the North Carolina native has already begun opening eyes in the National Series ranks.
In his NCWTS debut at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park, Riggs started 23rd and ran a very composed race. By the time the checkered flag was waving at the end of 207 hard-fought laps, Riggs had scored an impressive seventh-place finish.
Riggs followed up the top-10 finish in his first-career start by securing his first top-five start in his next race. Riggs qualified fourth at Richmond Raceway, but in a race that provided only one natural caution, the youngster simply focused on finishing as many laps as he could for the experience. Riggs came home 19th in that race.
The upcoming race at Phoenix Raceway seems to be a pivotal one for Riggs, as he has made his intentions known that he wants to take the next step in his racing career.
“I have been racing competitively and successfully since I was ten,” Riggs said. “After nine years of earning my spurs on the CARS Tour — which includes seven years in the NASCAR Late Model Stock Car Series –, I am confident that I am ready for the next step in my racing career.”
What does the future hold for Riggs? That remains to be seen, but rest assured the driver is on the radar and could soon be making the jump as a much larger presence in the NASCAR National Series ranks.
