A fan favorite in the ARCA Menards Series is set to return to the track. Brayton Laster and his love for pizza are teaming up with Wayne Peterson Motorsports for the upcoming Circle City 200 at Lucas Oil Indianapolis Raceway Park.
This season has been up and down for the Greenwood, IN native.
“It has definitely been a rough year for us. We missed the show at Daytona, and then I do not have a whole lot of intermediate experience so my races at Pheonix and Kansas were all about seat time and not focusing primarily on being competitive, so going back to a short track where I can try to shine is definitely much needed,” Brayton said.
RACE ANNOUNCEMENT: The hometown hero is back!
I'm glad to announce I will be joining Wayne Peterson Motorsports (@Arcafan06) for the first time in my career to tackle my home track of Indianapolis Raceway Park (@RaceIRP) in just a couple of weeks! I'm beyond thankful to Wayne… pic.twitter.com/ZxKMlwqOJq

In his two starts this season, his best was 22nd at Kansas Speedway back in May with Rise Motorsports. While he gains experience on the bigger tracks, Laster has a great discography on the short track.
“I’ve competed on all types of tracks now in the ARCA platform, but prior to racing ARCA, I was running across the midwest on dirt and asphalt at short tracks just like IRP. It is where I typically feel most comfortable and competitive. It is always exciting when you’re with a new group, especially one whose roots are as embedded into NASCAR and ARCA as Wayne Peterson’s,” he added.
“The entire team is excited to have Brayton in the #06 Toyota Camry for Indianapolis Raceway Park,” Wayne Peterson Racing’s crew chief Nate Moeller said on ‘The Pizza Man’ joining the team.
“It is always fantastic to have a new driver with the team, especially when they get to run at their home track and we are really looking forward to the whole weekend!”
You can catch Laster returning behind the wheel and in front of a hometown crowd on Friday, July 19th at 5:30 PM ET on FS1.
