Fast Track Racing has announced that Japan’s Takuma Koga will compete full-time in ARCA Menards Series East, including the ARCA Menards Series opening race at Daytona International Speedway on February 15.
Koga will climb aboard the No. 12 Toyota Camry for his first full-time season in the ARCA Menards Series East with sponsorship coming from Japanese-based tire company, Yokohama. The company will serve as an associate sponsor as well with the team for the entirety of the 2025 season.
Koga has competed in 125 races in the ARCA Menards Series West since 2002. Koga has finished a career-best fifth four times in his ARCA West career, including four fifth-place finishes, with three of those finishes coming at Portland International Raceway all with Jerry Pitts Racing, and once at Orange Show Speedway in 2017 with John Krebs Racing. He also has six career ARCA Menards Series starts under his belt, with a 15th place showing in the penultimate race at Kansas Speedway in 2024.
Dick Doheny will be crew chief of the No. 12 for all of Takuma Koga’s starts. Doheny was previously the crew chief of the team’s Ford/ Toyota No. 10 entry in the ARCA Menards Series East last season.
“I am proud to announce that for the 2025 season, I will be competing full-time in the ARCA East Series, including Daytona, with Fast Track Racing.” Said a very excited Koga in a press release from Fast Track Racing: “I am determined to learn as much as possible from team owner Andy, a Daytona winner, and to work with everyone on the team to make this an incredible season. We are fully prepared to give it our all.”
Fast Track Racing’s owner Andy Hillenburg, the 1995 ARCA Menards Series champion, spoke on how he’s excited about the partnership along with the veteran presence that Koga will bring to the organization: “2025 is going to be an exciting year for Fast Track. Having Takuma’s experience from the West Series will be great for our younger drivers with his perspective to help them and our team.” “I am looking forward to getting Takuma off to a great start at Daytona, and in our partnership this season.”
Koga attempted to qualify for his first ARCA Daytona 200 last year with Fast Track Racing but unfortunately missed the race as he failed to qualify inside the top 40 to make the show.
The ARCA Menards Series East season kicks off on March 22 at the Five Flags Speedway in Pensacola, Florida. The ARCA Menards Series season begins at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, Florida on February 15.
