Treyten Lapcevich made an incredible last-lap dive on Alex Guenette to regain the lead of the season-opening race for the NASCAR Pinty Series at Sunset Speedway.

Treyten Lapcevich almost faced one of the most devastating losses in the history of the NASCAR Pinty’s Series, after leading 249 of 250 laps in Saturday’s season-opening NTN Ultimate Bearing Experience 250 at Sunset Speedway.

On the race’s final restart, Lapcevich, driving the No. 20 Chevrolet Camaro for 22 Racing, lost the lead in a full-contact battle with Alex Guenette, Marc-Antoine Camirand, and several others, falling to second place.

Then, on the race’s final lap, Lapcevich decided he wasn’t going to be denied, making a dive into turn three on the final lap, to knock the No. 3 Ed Hakonson Racing Chevrolet out of the way, and returning to the lead.

Guenette would finish second, and Kevin Lacroix in third, despite running around the fifth spot all evening.
