Hunter McElrea kept the weekend’s momentum rolling and led second practice for Indy Lights at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

The 22-year-old driver of the No. 27 Andretti Autosport entry turned a flying lap at 1m12.1490s (112.667 mph) to claim the top spot on the 2.258-mile, 13-turn natural-terrain road course.

Matthew Brabham’s No. 83 Andretti Autosport entry came away a distant second, ending 0.3904s off McElrea’s top time.

Christian Rasmussen was third to give Andretti Autosport a clean sweep of the top three spots, finishing 0.4403s behind.

Championship leader Linus Lundqvist finished fourth, with his No. 26 HMD Motorsports with Dale Coyne Racing entry behind the top spot 0.5234s. Jacob Abel ended the session in fifth.

Benjamin Pederson, Daniel Frost, Christian Bogle, Kyffin Simpson and Antonio Serravalle rounded out the rest of the top 10.

There were multiple incidents that brought a temporary halt to the session. The first red flag of second practice came out after James Roe’s No. 12 TJ Speed Motorsports entry spun off course in Turn 9.

Sting Ray Robb brought out the second red flag of the session after his No. 2 Andretti Autosport machine drifted off course and crashed into the tire barrier in Turn 9. He was seen and released from the Infield Care Center.
