2021 NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Larson, who is attempting his second Indianapolis 500 start for Arrow McLaren, will take part in the oval refresher test as he hasn’t competed in the NTT IndyCar Series since the Indianapolis 500 a year ago.
Larson impressed in his first trip to the Indianapolis 500 as he qualified in the fifth position, and went on to finish 18th after a late-race pit road speeding penalty.
From 2-6 PM ET on Wednesday, all competitors will be allowed to go on track.
On Thursday, a ‘high boost” session, which includes increased engine boost levels available during a session similar to “Fast Friday” during the Month of May, will be conducted for all cars from 9:30 AM ET to Noon. Teams will be permitted to conduct further standard testing from 2 PM ET to 5 PM ET on Thursday.
Indianapolis Motor Speedway will open the Southeast Vista grandstands and the Turn 2 Viewing Mounds for the public to take in the test session. For those unable to attend Indianapolis Motor Speedway, the two-day test session will be streamed live on the IndyCar YouTube Channel, and IndyCar will provide live timing and scoring during the two-day session via IndyCar.com and the IndyCar App powered by NTT Data.
