It seems as if Kevin Harvick’s Kern Raceway has turned into a playground for the current ARCA West points leader, Trevor Huddleston, as he took not only his second race victory of the 2025 ARCA Menards Series West campaign, but also his second consecutive race win at Kern County on Saturday evening.
The race saw everything from close-quarters racing to chaos and a fight all the way to the end to determine the winner of the NAPA Auto Parts 150.
Kyle Keller began the evening with his first career pole position, but just as fast as it started, defending race winner Jake Bollman got a piece of the action early, swiping the lead away by using the outside to his advantage.
After a quick and early caution flew on Lap 8, Bollman restarted up top and flew past Keller and Tanner Reif for the race lead, with Reif moving his way into second as Keller started to drop back. Meanwhile, Huddleston began his rise from the 15th starting spot, working already almost inside the top-five within the first 40 laps of the race.
Bollman gapped the field by nearly two seconds before a caution on Lap 45 for debris on the racing surface put the field back together for a Lap 50 restart, which allowed for Reif to get the jump on Bollman heading into Turn 1, as Reif drove away with the lead all the way until 50 laps were remaining in the event.
During the halfway break yellow flag period on Lap 75, Bollman went behind the wall to address a problem with his No. 19 Bill McAnally Racing Chevrolet SS, putting him numerous laps down and out of contention for the race victory despite qualifying second and leading 49 laps early on.
Not even five laps after the halfway break caution, the second debris caution of the night came out on Lap 85, which allowed for Huddleston to hunt down Reif, allowing the driver of the No. 50 High Point Racing Ford to use the outside lane to his advantage, just like his adversaries had done all race, and rocket past Reif, leading the next 62 laps unanswered.
Joey Kennealy and Todd Souza brought out the fifth and final caution as the duo was fighting hard on track for position, but both subsequently crashed while running ninth and 10th, respectively, ending both of their nights. This put the field back together for what turned out to be the final caution of the event.
Huddleston kept his cool and pulled off the perfect restart, and Huddleston drove a clean rest of the race to claim his second ARCA West win of 2025, completing the perfect sweep of the Kern County races.
“What an amazing race, thank you all for coming out,” Huddleston said in a post-race interview after a commanding late-race win to the fans at the track. “I’m out of breath, I’ve been holding it for the past 100 laps.”
Keller, who dropped numerous spots and found his way back into second, is also the second time this season that he’s finished runner-up to Huddleston, when it occurred in the season-opening race that he won back in January.
Following Keller was Robbie Kennealy, scoring his best finish of the season in third, followed by Reif in fourth, and Eric Johnson Jr. in fifth.
Andrew Chapman came home in sixth in his ARCA West debut, with Jaron Giannini in seventh, Jonathan Reaume in eighth, Blake Lothian in ninth, and P.J. Pedroncelli finishing 10th.
Huddleston now extends his points lead over Reif by nine points as the series heads into its first of two road course events on the year, when they visit the twists and turns at Sonoma Raceway on July 11 for the General Tire 200.
