Tommy Baldwin Racing has kept its winning streak alive with rookie Mike Christopher Jr., who also scored his first career NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour victory on Saturday night.

Doug Coby had gotten the previous two wins for the team at Riverhead Raceway and Lee USA Speedway, but the organization turned to the Connecticut-native at a track he had not yet visited, and the result was just what they were hoping for.

This was no dominant win like the two ones that came before. The No. 7 climbed all the way from an eighth starting position, where Christopher joined in on a four-car battle for the top spot on lap 88.

Tyler Rypkema dominated the day, leading over 100 laps. But in the end, it just wasn’t meant to be his day.

With 11 laps to go, the Christopher finally made the pass for the lead and won the race by 1.7 seconds.

Rypkema settled with a runner-up finish after a stellar performance from the pole position, and J.B. Fortin followed with his best career series finish in the third spot.

While Tommy Baldwin Jr.’s team continues to stretch their lead in the owner standings, it’s Ron Silk who continues to maintain the points lead by just three points over Tommy Catalano.

The NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour heads to Monadnock Speedway for their next event on Saturday, June 18th, at 8:30p.m. ET.
