Video: Frankie Muniz Takes Massive Shunt to Outside Wall at Elko Speedway

Frankie Muniz recorded his first DNF of the season in Saturday’s Menards 250 at Elko Speedway, after contact with Davey Callihan.

What was a strong showing in Saturday’s ARCA Menards Series event at Elko Speedway would come to a premature ending for Frankie Muniz, after a late-race crash totaled his No. 30 ReSkills Ford Mustang for Rette Jones Racing.

The accident, which occurred with 50 laps remaining, started after contact between Davey Callihan in the No. 01 and Muniz in the No. 30, sending the 37-year-old driver into the outside wall.

Muniz was able to climb from his Ford Mustang under his own power, but the damage to his entry was immense, leading to his first DNF of the year in the series’ seventh event of 2023.

Sitting in the runner-up spot in ARCA Menards Series point standings entering Saturday’s event, Muniz has had a strong season thus far, racking up five top-10 results in the opening six events, including a best finish of sixth.

Davey Callihan, a fellow rookie driver, was also involved in the crash, but was able to continue in his ARCA Menards Series debut without any significant damage.
