Corey Day, an up-and-coming Sprint Car racer who has garnered praise from NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Larson, is preparing to take another massive step in his career when it comes to racing on pavement.

The 18-year-old dirt racer will contest a three-race program in the ARCA Menards Series for Pinnacle Racing Group this season, beginning with Saturday’s event at Salem Speedway, where he’ll pilot the No. 28 Chevrolet SS.

Support for the effort will come in the form of HendrickCars.com, which serves as the anchor partner for Kyle Larson and Rajah Caruth in the NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, respectively.

A native of Clovis, California, Day will return to the ARCA Menards Series in a HendrickCars.com-sponsored entry for Pinnacle Racing Group at Bristol Motor Speedway (September 19) and Kansas Speedway (September 27).

Pinnacle Racing Group has amassed four wins in the ARCA Menards Series this season, between drivers Connor Mosack and Connor Zilisch. Zilisch, a development driver for Trackhouse Racing, currently leads the ARCA East standings for the operation, on the strength of three wins.

In April, Day made his pavement racing debut at Hickory Motor Speedway, driving a Late Model Stock Car for JR Motorsports. After placing seventh in the first 40-lap feature, Day dominated the second, leading every lap on the way to his first pavement win.

Day currently competes full-time in the Kubota High Limit Racing Series, and sits fifth in points on the strength of five feature race wins. The Clovis, California-native has also won a World of Outlaws event at Knoxville Raceway.
