Video: Brake Issue Sends Todd Gilliland Spinning Out of Clash

Todd Gilliland saw his bid for a win in the 2024 Busch Light Clash expire before the race hit the half-way mark. On Lap 69, Gilliland suffered an issue with his brakes, which sent him spinning heading into Turn 1.

As he spun, Gilliland’s car came to a rest against the outside wall. Here is a video from the FS1 broadcast of Gilliland’s race-ending incident.

Gilliland will be credited with a 23rd-place finish in the season-opening exhibition event at the LA Memorial Coliseum. While that’s not ideal, at least Gilliland was able to get the car slowed down enough that the impact wasn’t super severe.

The Front Row Motorsports driver was checked and released from the care center following the crash.
