SS-GreenLight Racing has called upon Patrick Emerling, a four-time winner in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, to serve as the anchor driver of the No. 07 Chevrolet Camaro, the organization announced on Thursday.

The 31-year-old driver has spent the last two seasons as the co-owner and part-time driver for Emerling-Gase Motorsports. However, Emerling has confirmed to TobyChristie.com that the relationship between him and Joey Gase will not continue.

Paul Clapprood, who served as a crew chief for Emerling-Gase Motorsports in 2023, will be moving to SS-GreenLight Racing with Emerling, calling the shots on the No. 07 Chevrolet Camaro in 2024.

“Working with Bobby is an incredible honor. Bobby’s experience and knowledge is an asset I’m very excited to have,” said Emerling. “I’m excited to get the season started down in Daytona, and I’m looking forward to gaining more experience throughout the year.”

In addition to his duties with SS-GreenLight Racing, Emerling will be competing full-time in the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour with car owner Rich Gautreau, as he looks to improve upon a runner-up points finish in the series from 2021.

“We are really excited to have Patrick on board,” said SS-GreenLight Racing owner Bobby Dotter. “He has impressed me and continues to improve every time he gets on track. Patrick is a great racer, and his drive to compete week in and week out is going to fuel this team to new heights.”

Since making his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut in 2020, Emerling has amassed 32 career starts, all of which have come for either Our Motorsports or Emerling-Gase Motorsports. In that time, the Modified Tour veteran has collected five top-20 results, including a career-best 14th at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in 2023.
