Jack Wood Joins McAnally-Hilgemann Racing for 14-Race Truck Slate; Full ARCA West Season

Jack Wood, who spent last season as the anchor driver of the No. 51 Chevrolet for Kyle Busch Motorsports, is set to make a full-time return to the ARCA Menards Series West in 2024.

A native of Loomis, California, Wood will join forces with Bill McAnally Racing, as well as sister team McAnally-Hilgemann Racing in 2024, where he’ll get behind the wheel of the No. 16 Chevrolet SS for the entire ARCA Menards Series West campaign.

Additionally, Wood has been named the anchor driver of the No. 91 Chevrolet Silverado in 2024 — a third entry in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series for McAnally-Hilgemann Racing — where he’ll contest a 14-race slate.

Kevin Bellicourt, a veteran of the NASCAR Truck Series and NASCAR Cup Series, will serve as a crew chief for Wood in both ARCA West and the NASCAR Truck Series. Three-time ARCA Menards Series West champion Eric Holmes will also serve as a driver coach and spotter for Wood.

“The opportunity to race for a championship with BMR and NAPA Auto Care is definitely exciting,” Wood said. “It’s a great chance to reestablish myself in the West series, focus on racing for a title and continuing to compete on the Truck side also. Having Kevin (Bellicourt) with me in both series is going to be a huge help to build consistency and I’m looking forward to balancing both programs next season.”

The 23-year-old driver will join Daniel Dye (No. 43) and Christian Eckes (No. 19) as the three drivers currently announced to compete for McAnally-Hilgemann Racing in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series for 2024.

“Having Jack join our Truck Series program is a big addition, and I’m excited to see him compete for a championship in the NAPA Auto Care Chevrolet out west,” team owner, Bill McAnally said. “We want to get back to victory lane in the ARCA West Series and Jack will give us a great chance to chase our 12th championship. He never got to compete for a regional title, and I think the opportunity for him to do that will help him gain confidence and experience. It will also help grow the No. 91 team with Kevin (Bellicourt) into a contender in the Truck Series.”

Since debuting in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in 2021, Wood has recorded a total of 48 career starts, piloting entries for the now-defunct GMS Racing and Kyle Busch Motorsports teams. In that time, he’s collected a career-best finish of ninth and three finishes inside the top-10.

The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series schedule for Wood will begin with the first two events of the season back-to-back at Daytona International Speedway and Atlanta Motor Speedway, with a full schedule to be released once the ARCA West schedule is revealed.
