It was a special night out in the deserts of Las Vegas as Dylan Cappello took home his first career win in the Star Nursey 150 at the Bullring in his second career start.

The Peoria, AZ native only hand one ARCA Menards Series West race before at Roseville in 2015.

“Man, it’s just crazy. It was just kind of a one-off deal…Mike Nakke has a great piece,” the Front Row Motorsports engineer said postrace.

“I knew we were gonna come through the field…These guys are animals on restarts, and I was kind of struggling to get through gears all night. Just got through the gears good enough and got a good entry into one…We got it done,” he added.

Trevor Huddleston was able to sneak home in second after a late-race restart. “Obviously as a race car driver you want to win every race, but there was a part of me there that knew I couldn’t push the button with him (Cappello) cause I had to focus on Tanner behind me,” he said post-race. A great rebound after a 15th-place finish in the last race out at Roseville.

The Reif brothers of Tanner and Tyler and Eric Nascimento Jr rounded out the top five. For Nascimento, this is his third fifth-place finish in four races.

Cappello was able to capitalize on the misfortune of Sean Hingorani. After dominating the first three-quarters of the 150-lap event, but during the sixth caution, the right front of the No. 15 caught fire and forced a red flag. Things went downhill fast for the Newport Beach, CA native after having to pit for a new right front tire and later stopping on track. He’d end up 16th on the night.

It was also a tough night for Kaden Honeycutt. He and the No. 17 team had to start in the rear due to an engine change, the Woodlands, TX native worked his way off to fifth but would fall back to finish ninth on the night.

Up next, the ARCA Menards Series West takes on Madera Speedway and the 51FIFTY Jr Homecoming ARCA 150.
