A.J. Allmendinger sealed the deal and found a way to put a positive spin on what had been a frustrating season. The 41-year old driver scored the win in Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Bank of America ROVAL 400 as he held off William Byron in the closing laps.

Allmendinger’s win, the third of his career, was made official following post-race inspection. The driver’s No. 16 Kaulig Racing Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 passed with no issues, and NASCAR declared Allmendinger and his team the official winners of the race.

The California native is one of the most prolific road racers in NASCAR history, and he now has wins at three different road course facilities in his NASCAR Cup Series career.

No issues were detected in post-race inspection, which means all results and standings following Sunday’s race are now considered official.

The four drivers who were officially eliminated from Playoff contention on Sunday were Ross Chastain, Bubba Wallace, Brad Keselowski, and Kyle Busch.

William Byron, Tyler Reddick, Chris Buescher, Ryan Blaney, Kyle Larson, Christopher Bell, Martin Truex Jr., and Denny Hamlin are the eight drivers that will move on to the Round of 8.
