Sammy Smith went for a wild ride after contact from Sheldon Creed on Lap 69 of Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Nashville.

We are now up to seven cautions in the opening 70 laps of Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series Tennessee Lottery 250 at Nashville Superspeedway.

The latest caution came out when Sheldon Creed got into the back of Sammy Smith while battling for the sixth position. The contact sent Smith spinning around, and the driver of the No. 18 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota backed his car hard into the outside wall.

As Creed was also spinning, Brandon Jones, who was sitting just behind the crash, had nowhere to go and collided with Creed causing big damage to the front of his No. 9 JR Motorsports Chevrolet.

Here is a video of the latest crash in Saturday’s race:

We are running at historic levels of cautions in the Tennessee Lottery 250. Through the opening 75 laps of the race, 37 laps have been run under caution, while 38 laps have been run under the green flag.
