Video: Michael McDowell Spins After Contact from Ross Chastain on Gateway Restart

Well, that certainly didn’t work out as planned.

In an attempt to gain track position in Sunday’s Enjoy Illinois 300, Michael McDowell and Front Row Motorsports attempted to take two tires, putting him inside the top-10 on the first restart in the second stage.

However, by the time the field rounded the second corner on the restart, McDowell had lost all of that gained track position, and even more, after contact from Ross Chastain sent the No. 34 Fr8Auctions.com Ford Mustang spinning.

Luckily, the damage to McDowell’s No. 34 Ford Mustang was pretty minor, allowing him to remain on the track – and even better, on the lead lap – and continue to press forward for the remaining laps of Sunday’s 300-mile contest.
