Video: Dean Thompson Turned By Hailie Deegan in Stage Three at North Wilkesboro

Dean Thompson and Hailie Deegan tangled in the race’s final stage, while battling for a position just inside the top-25.

The return to North Wilkesboro Speedway for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series hasn’t been terribly kind to Hailie Deegan, after the series’ Most Popular Driver got caught up in her third incident of Saturday’s Tyson 250.

Deegan, who at the time of the incident was running just inside the top-25, had problems getting into the first corner at the 0.625-mile facility, making significant contact with the truck to her outside, Dean Thompson.

As a result of the contact, Thompson was spun into the outside wall, damaging his No. 5 Thompson Pipe Group Toyota Tundra TRD Pro significantly, causing him to retire from the event prematurely.

However, that contact wasn’t where the accident finished. Driving the No. 02 for Young’s Motorsports, Kris Wright could not get slowed down for the accident ahead of him, sliding into the outside wall after locking his brakes.

After slamming the outside wall, Wright then made contact with Thompson, further escalating the already heavy damage that the TRICON Garage driver had on his entry.
