Harrison Burton, who was set to run in Wednesday’s CARS Tour event at North Wilkesboro Speedway has had to pull out of the event due to issues with his race car. Burton Tweeted the disappointing news on Wednesday.

In the Tweet, Burton said, “Unfortunately, due to an issue with the car, it can’t be ready to run the CARS Tour race tomorrow. Disappointing for sure but this will be a great week of racing at North Wilkesboro and I can’t wait to get on track, Friday!”

As a result, Burton will not get any on-track experience at the 0.625-mile short-track before Friday’s NASCAR All-Star Open Practice session.

Burton is one of 16 drivers that will attempt to work his way into one of the three transfer spots to the NASCAR All-Star Race from the 100-lap open race. At the end of the All-Star Open, the top-two finishers will advance to the Main Event, while one additional driver will be voted into the field by the fans.

The 22-year-old racer scored his first top-10 finish of the 2023 NASCAR Cup Series season this past weekend with an impressive sixth-place effort in the Goodyear 400 at Darlington Raceway.
